Now it's Ilsa's turn to stiffen, the flush in her cheeks only darkening as she tears her eyes away from Eustace to look at Valo, who is now blinking at the two of them, confused, as he licks away the peanut butter on his face.
Ilsa doesn't have an answer for him. Not even a response of any kind right away. She spent so long thinking about that exact question only to come up short, and with more questions for herself than answers.
